Rohini Das makes waves even in USA.. |
| Rohini joined the BTA family when she was 16 years of age. Since, then she’s excelled in whatever she laid her lands on. As an all rounder, she handled with ease both her academics and sports. She went on to become top ranked Tennis player in the state. She also won the Inter University Team Championship in Kolkata. Each and every effort her parents in trying to groom her as a sportsperson has been worth it. She carved her path into Kuztown University with 100% scholarship couple of years back; where she bagged the title of ‘PSAC East Player of the Year’ (2008-09). Along with that, she features as one of the three players for the ‘All-PSAC East Singles team’, and partner’s one Barbera Joerns for ‘All-PSAC East Double’s team’. Her Fierce career driven attitude has never allowed her to halt for even a moment-- She was awarded the ‘Academic All-District II College Division At-Large Second Team’ (ESPN the Magazine) Title in 2008-09.’ She is definitely a self-made woman and a mere glance at her ‘career graph’ would make us wonder about the whereabouts of her energy resource. She’s presently (as on 16th December, 2009) ranked 3rd in the Singles; and 6th in the Doubles, in the ‘ITA Atlantic Region Women’s Fall Rankings’. Amazed??? Hang on, it doesn’t end there---She features among the Top-50 players in ‘Division II Women’s Tennis National Ranking’ (as on 31st October, 2009); and 26th in ‘All-USA Women’s Tennis Ranking’. After years of hard work in Tennis, you might be thinking, that academics took a back seat. That couldn’t happen. She would never compromise one for the other-she weighs them on equal pedestal and by god’s grace she’s still moving ahead; and we (here at BTA) wish her all the very best, as she walks into ‘Rollins University, Florida, USA’ for further studies (MBA) with a $40,000 Scholarship. For any other girl at her age, we must say, she’s made history! We wish her all the best for her future endeavors !! |
